Situated in the sweet spot between The Woodlands, Tomball and Spring, Texas, Craft Grill brings a fresh approach to Southern cuisine with the added ingredient of Texas heat and spice in both the food and cocktail menus. Our restaurant was built from the ground up in 2015, and features some unique historical aspects such as the wall of windows separating the Tap Room from the Dining Room. The windows are over 100 years old and were relocated here from the Doris Duke mansion in Somerset, New Jersey. The unvarnished warm wooden u-shaped bar was also constructed on site using various species of hardwoods. The hand-crafted Tap Room wall features thirty beers on tap, with a strong focus on local Texas craft beer. There's also a hand-painted mural at the entry area that features the owners of Craft Grill. Our outside patio has both covered and uncovered area, and is dog-friendly. We offer each furry canine companion their own bowl of cool drinking water as well as one (or two!) complimentary house-baked dogbone-shaped puppy biscuits. Craft Grill also caters to families by offering a childs menu, coloring pages and crayons, booster seats, high chairs and booths.
Since opening in 2016, Craft Grill has been a favorite of locals who pass along the excitement of their favorite place to their friends and family through word of mouth, enabling Craft Grill to continue to grow and establish strong community roots. Whether it's a bowl of warm Connie's Queso with house-fried tortilla chips, our Gruene Burger created with a blend of Certified Angus Beef Chuck, Brisket and Ribeye that we grind in-house fresh every day, our New Orleans style Shrimp & Grits with a dark house-made roux over smoked Gouda grits, our Georgia Chicken topped with seasonal peaches and mango, candied pecans, Texas goat cheese, avocado, sweet potato spirals and our house-made tomatillo salsa verde or maybe our Arkansas Fried Apple Hand Pie made fresh from scratch in-house every day, whatever you choose, your meal at Craft Grill will be unforgettable. In addition to all of our great Texas craft beer on tap, we also feature seasonal hand-crafted cocktails, and flights of Margaritas, beer, wine, Scotch and whiskey. We have two Happy Hours daily, from 3pm - 6pm and from 9pm - 10pm Sun-Thursday and 3pm - 6pm and from 9pm - 11pm on Friday & Saturday. You can also order our food to be picked-up curbside or delivered to your place and with a new law, you can also add on wine, beer, cocktails and margaritas.
Four long-time friends, Joe & Patti Copus, and Chris & Connie O'Donnell, loved visiting local restaurants and wanted to create one that would have appeal not just to them but their neighborhood where they have all lived for over twenty years. Casual conversations turned into serious discussions, dreams became sketches on napkins, and in mid-2015, they took a leap of faith with a rough idea of a concept for the interior, exterior, as well as food and drink menu, and Craft Grill was born. The menu concept was simple, but an important distinction that would prove to help Craft Grill stand out from the competition. All menu items were developed to represent different aspects of Southern cuisine with particular focus on areas below the Mason-Dixon line. The menu items chosen have stories behind them, as do all great recipes, and we love to share them with you.
